Manual Therapy Alliance, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have with respect to your information.

This policy applies to all visitors and registered users of our platform, regardless of where you are located. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive privacy laws, additional rights described below apply to you.

We collect the following categories of personal information when you create an account, enroll in a course, or interact with our platform:

  • Identity & Contact: First and last name, email address, phone number.
  • Professional Credentials: Professional license number, issuing state or jurisdiction, and profession or discipline.
  • Payment Information: We do not store your credit card or bank details directly. Payment data is handled by Stripe (see Section 3). We receive a transaction confirmation and limited billing details only.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you access and use the platform, including pages visited, course progress, quiz responses, notes, and completion records.
  • Device & Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs, collected automatically when you visit our site.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services and fulfill our legal obligations. We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond your professional license number.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
  • To verify your professional eligibility to enroll in our courses.
  • To process payments and maintain transaction records.
  • To deliver course content and track your progress and completion.
  • To issue certificates of completion.
  • To communicate with you about your enrollment, account, course updates, and support matters.
  • To send educational or promotional communications (you may opt out at any time).
  • To analyze platform usage and improve our courses and services.
  • To comply with applicable laws and resolve disputes.

We process your information on the following legal bases (where applicable): performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests (platform improvement, fraud prevention), and, where required, your consent.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Processors

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your data:

  • Stripe— Payment processing. Your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend— Transactional email delivery. Your name and email address are shared with Resend solely to send account-related communications on our behalf.
  • Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager(Planned) We intend to use these tools to analyze aggregate traffic and platform usage. When enabled, Google may collect usage and device data through cookies. We will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent before activating these services.
  • Vercel— Our platform and file storage are hosted on Vercel's infrastructure in the United States.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled without affecting your ability to use the site.
  • Analytics cookies: Used to measure traffic and usage patterns (Google Analytics, planned). Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing these cookies.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to the student portal.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records.
  • Restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of data you have provided to us, where technically feasible.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

If you are located in the EEA or United Kingdom, these rights are granted under the GDPR or UK GDPR. If you are located in California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. Payment and transaction records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial laws. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and signed session tokens. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. International Data Transfers

Our platform and servers are based in the United States. If you access our platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA residents) to ensure your data is protected when transferred internationally.

9. Children's Privacy

Our platform is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please contact us immediately and we will delete their data promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email.
