Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: - Differentiate between communicable and infectious diseases and identify the five major types of pathogens relevant to manual therapy. - Analyze the Chain of Infection and identify specific intervention points within a massage practice setting. - Apply Standard Precautions, including proper hand hygiene and PPE selection, to daily practice. - Evaluate environmental cleaning protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment. - Recognize the signs and symptoms of common skin, respiratory, and bloodborne diseases. - Execute critical clinical decision-making regarding when to treat, postpone, or refer a client based on infectious disease presentation.
